St Barnabas Monastery
The monastery stands outside Famagusta, between Tuzla and the Salamis area. The church houses an icon museum, while the former monastic rooms contain archaeological displays. A separate chapel is associated with the traditional burial place of Saint Barnabas.
Plan the visit
Combine the museum with Salamis only if you want two substantial heritage visits. This is outside the walled city, so arrange transport between the sites. The tomb association is a religious tradition, not a claim that the burial has been independently authenticated.
